Jul 2 2014 | 5:13am ET

Family office and institutional investment manager New Providence Asset Management has hired the former head of hedge fund Oakum Bay Capital.

Brooke Parish was named a managing director and partner at the New York-based firm, as well as a member of its investment team. In his new post, Parish will also handle client service and marketing.

Parish left Oakum Bay in 2013, a year after joining the former KVO Capital Management as president and CEO. Prior to joining the now-defunct hedge fund, Parish was head of client advisory at York Capital and head of alternative asset management at Bessemer Trust.

New Providence also hired Jeannine Caruso, formerly chief investment officer at the Dyson Foundation, as a partner and investment team member.
