Jabre Capital has hired a Deutsche Bank stockbroker. But Nico Jackson’s move to the hedge fund founded by former GLG Partners star trader Philippe Jabre is making more waves in the tabloid press than in the trade pages.
That’s because Jackson is dating Pippa Middleton, the only sister of Kate Middleton—the wife of Prince William, third in line to the British throne.
Jackson and the younger Middleton have been dating for two years, and are tipped in the British press to be planning to marry. The couple was recently seen house-hunting in London.
But Jackson’s new job will take him to Geneva, where Jabre is based. Still, that doesn’t appear to threaten his tie to Middleton, with a source close to the couple telling the Daily Mail that “they are very much an item, their relationship is very strong and they are very happy together.”
Should the two survive long-distance love and wed, it will give Jabre a second close tie to the presumptive future king and queen of England: The firm already boasts Mark Cecil, a close friend of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, as a founding partner.
