Neuberger Berman Group has turned to a Kohlberg Kravis Roberts veteran to bolster its Asian business.
The asset manager named Clifford Chiu a senior adviser in the region. Chiu is charged with helping the firm build its Asian client base.
Chiu was a partner at KKR, overseeing its client business in Asia, until his recent retirement. During his tenure at the private-equity giant, Chiu’s team raised nearly US$15 billion from investors in the region.
Prior to joining KKR, Chiu worked at JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney.
“We are delighted to welcome Clifford to our team in Asia and learn from his vast insights as we continue to expand our presence in this region,” Neuberger Berman Asia chief Nick Hoar said.
