The Gainesville Consolidated Police Officers & Firefighters Pension Plan and the Gainesville General Employees Pension Plan are considering an education into private equity in the third quarter.

William Johnston, treasurer, said if the plans do study private equity, any possible search would likely not occur until the middle or end of 2007. The plan currently has a 10% allocation to hedge funds. The General Employees Plan has approximately $30 million in assets and the Police Officers & Firefighters Plan has about $20 million in assets.
