Algebris Co-Founder’s Hedge Fund Adds Och-Ziff, Visium Vet

Hedge fund Silvaris Capital Management has hired its sixth and—for now—last partner.

The firm, established two years ago by Algebris Investments co-founder Eric Halet, named Karl Spielmann to its senior management team last week. Spielmann will take over coverage of financials from Halet, Financial News reports.

Spielmann joins Silvaris from Visium Capital Management, where he was a partner for little over a year. Previously, he worked at Och-Ziff Capital Management. Spielmann is the second new partner at Silvaris this year, following the hire of Wellington Management’s Michael Sznajer to handle emerging markets.
