This week Morningstar, which is best known for its mutual fund research, began posting hedge fund data online in an aim to bring more transparency to the opaque world of hedge funds.
Hedge fund data is available to www.Morningstar.com premium members who are also accredited investors. Members will have the ability to search key data points, which include fundamental risk/return metrics, management backgroundand fees.

As many of you know, FINalternatives was recently acquired by the owners of Futures magazine, a firm called The Alpha Pages LLC. Today marks the soft-launch of a new sister site for both publications.
