Eaton Vance subsidiary Parametric has named fund manager Thomas Seto as its new head of investments.

Parametric specializes in quant-backed and alternative asset allocation.

Seto, who has been with the firm since 1998, is a portfolio manager across seven funds, covering emerging market and global equities. Prior to joining Parametric, he served as the head of U.S. equity index investments at Barclays Global Investors.

Seto's promotion follows the announcement by Parametric CIO David Stein that he will step down after 19 years in the post on October 31, 2015.

Paul Bouchey, who leads the research team at Parametric, becomes co-CIO of the Seattle Investment Centre and Tim Atwill, who is responsible for Parametric’s research and product development efforts, becomes head of investment strategy.

In his new capacity, Seto will retain his lead portfolio manager roles and trading activities. He will also join Parametric’s executive committee.

Parametric's clients include institutions, high-net-worth individuals and fund investors in the U.S. and abroad. Parametric operates from investment centers in Seattle, Minneapolis and Westport.
