Optima Fund Management is rolling out an Asian-focused fund-of-hedge funds that will invest with 12 underlying managers based in the region. The Optima Asia Fund is set to launch on July 1.
"Asia represents one of the greatest and most compelling investment opportunities of a generation," said Dixon Boardman, chairman of the firm, in a statement. "We remain at the early stages of a significant realignment of investor interest in the Pacific region, and given recent volatility in the markets, we believe the launch is very timely."
Boardman said he believes that the region is poised to see significant economic and market growth. "This has been driven by expanding regional trade and foreign direct investment, greater focus on creating shareholder value and economic development in China."
The fund will charge management fees of 1.25% and performance fees of 10%. There is a $500,000 minimum investment.
