Morgan Stanley Taps Moore Chief Economist Nystadt

Former Moore Capital Management chief economist Jens Nystedt has joined Morgan Stanley Investment Management as a managing director.

Nystedt also served as global strategist and portfolio manager at Moore, prior to which he held senior positions at GLG Partners, the International Monetary Fund and Deutsche Bank. 

In his new role at Morgan Stanley, Nystedt will be portfolio manager and head of sovereign research for the emerging markets debt team. His main investment responsibilities will include a focus on local market debt and also working with Eric Baurmeister, head of the emerging markets debt team, on strategy and portfolio construction for Morgan Stanley’s emerging markets debt investment strategies. 

Nystedt is reporting to Michael Kushma, chief investment officer of global fixed income for Morgan Stanley. He is based in New York and started this week.
