Hedge Fund Managers Among Top Tory Donors

Nov 14 2014 | 6:34am ET

Three hedge fund managers are among 32 people paying for the privilege of dining with British Prime Minister David Cameron and other members of his government.

RK Capital Management’s Michael Farmer, CQS’ Michael Hintze and Marathon Asset Management’s Neil Ostrer are all members of the Conservative Party’s “Leader’s Group.” Each has donated at least £50,000 this year to the party, giving them access to “dinners, post-[Prime Minister’s Questions] lunches, drinks receptions, election result events and important campaign launches.”

Farmer is believed to be the Tories’ biggest donor since their return to power in 2010. He was elevated to the House of Lords in September and serves as the party’s treasurer.
