Monument Group, an alternative investment fund placement agent, has tapped Karl Adam as a director in its London office.

Prior to joining Monument Group, Adam was avice president at Citi Private Bank where he assisted ultra-high net worth clients investing in a variety of asset classes, including private equity. Before working at Citi, he spent four years as a senior associate at Alta Advisers where he focused on private equity and natural resources funds. He also spent two years at CHAMP Private Equity, a Sydney-based firm, working on several mid-market Australian transactions. Adam began his career as a business analyst at management consulting firm McKinsey & Company.

At Monument Group, Adam will have investor coverage responsibility for German-speaking Europe and some UK-based investors. He will focus on both enhancing existing LP coverage and building relationships with new institutional investors and general partners in the region.

“Karl brings more than 10 years of experience and strong buy-side skills to our team in London,” said Janet Brooks, Monument Group partner, in a statement. “His contribution will further boost our presence in Europe and enhance our coverage with both investors and general partners.”

Founded in 1994, Monument Group is an independent private fund placement agent with offices in Boston, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
