Aequitas Taps AIG Vets

Portland, Ore.-based Aequitas Capital has hired a pair of AIG vets.

Scott Gillis, former CFO of AIG retirement services, has been appointed partner and chief operating officer at Aequitas while Edward Texeria, former senior vice president of AIG life and retirement, becomes SVP and chief accounting officer.

"Our firm has significantly expanded in size and the breadth of service offerings since its establishment more than 20 years ago. It is a testament to that growth that we have been able to attract veteran financial services professionals to our senior ranks," said Aequitas CEO Bob Jesenik in a statement.

Founded in 1993, Aequitas Capital is a diversified financial services company that creates alternative investments including private equity, private credit and specialty finance.
