Former Third-Party Marketer Forms New Advisory Firm

John Crittenden, most recently a vice president of institutional marketing for Proctor Investment Managers, has left the third-party marketer and launched Crittenden & Co. Alternative Investments Education and Consulting. 

 “A fiduciary needs to separate the source of their information and education from the manufacturer, provider, and seller of the product, or they are just not fulfilling their duties,” Crittenden wrote on his Web site. “I bet your salesman consultant didn’t tell you that; did they? Well I would, and that’s why I started Crittenden & Co. Alternative Investments Education and Consulting.”

Prior to joining Proctor, Crittenden was partner in the high net-worth advisory practices at both Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch focusing on managed futures, hedge funds, REIT's, commodity indices and structured products.
