Cohen Tops Forbes List Of Highest Paid Hedgies And Traders

It’s that time of year again when Forbes tells us which of the big boys are bringing home the mega bucks. In total, the 25 highest-earning hedge fund managers and traders in 2014 took home a combined $12.5 billion. But while that figure sounds high, unfortunately for them, it pales in comparison to the $24 billion they took home in 2013.

This year, George Soros was bumped from his spot as the number one earner by former “hedgie” Steve Cohen. While Cohen technically no longer runs a hedge fund (due to that pesky little guilty plea for insider trading by his old firm, the now defunct SAC Capital Advisors), according to Forbes, his new firm, Point72 Asset Management, “still functions like a major hedge fund and manages more than $10 billion.”
