Mar 17 2015 | 12:40pm ET

U.K.-based multi-strategy asset manager CQS Capital has expanded its offerings in the UCIT space, launching a long-only convertible bond fund

The CQS Global Convertible Fund is aimed specifically at institutional investors, according to CQS management. It will invest in 50-70 positions across a broad credit spectrum, including convertible and high-yield bonds, loans and asset-backed securities. It will target annualized net returns of 6%-8% over a full investment cycle, while seeking to miminimise annualised volatility to 5-7%.

The fund is available via CQS’s new UCITS platform, which is registered and regulated in Ireland. CQS expects it will be available in other European countries in short order.

The fund will be managed by James Peattie, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the convertible market.

Founded in 1999, CQS manages approximately $12 billion for global institutional investors.
