Former Pictet Equity Duo Joins Smith & Williamson

Tim Day and Chris Ford will join Smith & Williamson Investment Management on May 11.

The pair, formerly co-heads of global equities for Pictet Asset Management, will be tasked with managing the £89 million Smith & Williamson North American Trust and the £108 million S&W Mid Ocean World Fund, according to media reports. 

Together Day and Ford bring 45 years of investment experience to Smith And Williamson, with Ford managing U.S. equity strategies for Schroeders and Aegon Asset Management and Day specializing in global equities for Henderson.

David Hunter will step down from managing the S&W Mid Ocean fund, which domiciled in Dublin, and will take up other portfolio management responsibilities. Robert Royle, previously manager of the U.S. equity fund, will move to the company’s private client business. 

U.K.-based Smith & Williamson was founded in 1881 and had more than £16 billion in assets under management and advice as of March 31, 2015.
