FrontPoint Partners has hired Kevin Caliendo as co-portfolio manager of the firm's healthcare investment products. Caliendo was formerly a managing director at Salomon Brothers Asset Management where he was lead portfolio manager for the $1.7 billion long-only equity strategy.
Phil Duff, chairman of FrontPoint said, "We have invested a great deal of time and effort to create the right environment and incentives to continue to attract investment talent to FrontPoint, and Kevin's decision to partner with us is a result of those efforts." Greenwhich, Conn.-based FrontPoint, which was founded by Duff and Gil Caffray, both former Tiger Management executives, and Paul Ghaffari, previously a portfolio manager with Soros Fund Management, has approximately $5.5 billion in assets under management.
