Goldman Sachs Appoints Cohen to Lead Global Sponsor M&A

May 27 2015 | 11:49am ET

Stephanie Cohen has been promoted to global head of financial sponsor M&A at Goldman Sachs.

The new position is designed to boost the bank’s private equity deal coverage, according to a statement by the company.

Cohen joined Goldman in 1999, was named managing director in 2008, and made partner in 2014. She was previously global sector captain for general industrials and is based in New York.

Cohen's appointment is the third in three months related to financial sponsors. Alison Mass and Alasdair Warren were named global co-heads of Goldman’s financial sponsors group earlier this year.

While Mass and Warren are responsible for all of Goldman’s private equity products and services, Cohen will focus primarily on M&A advisory services to the company’s private equity clients.
