Hudson Executive Capital announced the hiring of two Advisory Partners on Wednesday as the new activist hedge fund continues to expand its focus.

Richard Kovacevich, former Chairman and CEO of Wells Fargo, will join the Firm's CEO Partners. Meanwhile, Mary Schapiro, former Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, will join as Senior Advisor for Governance and Regulatory Matters.

"We are pleased to add Dick Kovacevich and Mary Schapiro to our team and look forward to working with them and all of our Advisory Partners to generate investment opportunities and returns through Constructive Engagement(SM)," said Doug Braunstein, Founder and Managing Partner.

Schapiro was employed by consulting firm Promontory Financial Group after her departure from the SEC in 2013, however, she resigned after a few months. She is currently vice chair of Promontory's board of directors and serves on the board of General Electric. She is the only woman among the 16 advisory partners at Hudson.

Hudson Executive Capital was founded earlier this year by Douglas Braunstein, former CFO of JPMorgan Chase, and James Woolery, the chairman-elect at law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
