Asset management firm Henderson Global Investors has launched a UCITS-compliant multi-asset fund.

The new Henderson Horizon Global Multi-Asset Fund was kicked off last week as a Luxembourg-domiciled fund. The new vehicle will be managed by the company’s current co-heads of multi-asset strategies, Bill McQuaker and Paul O’Connor.

The fund has initial assets under management of around £100 million. It aims to generate attractive long-term returns with lower volatility than broader equity markets and will pursue an active asset allocation strategy across a wide range of asset classes. According to the company, this approach will help the team capture returns while simultaneously protecting capital.

The fund will complement Henderson’s existing products in the U.K. as well as expand its international operations. It is registered for sale in in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Founded in 1934, London-based Henderson had assets under management of more than £89.4 billion as of March 31, 2015.
