Fundbase Expands Features with New Investable Shelf, Portfolio Tool

Alternative investment community provider Fundbase has released a debut version of its online hedge fund portfolio management tool and made an initial group of funds available for investment online.

The release includes two new features designed to complement the community’s existing suite of tools useful for discovering, analyzing and connecting with hedge funds, and will help facilitate the entire investment lifecycle within one modern application.

The first of these new tools, called the Investable Shelf, is where hedge funds are now investable online. On top of full online subscriptions and complementary, independent third-party verification on the funds, Fundbase also handles complete subscription administration. Funds available for online investment on Fundbase show transparency on notable investors, have their investment minimums reduced, and no fees on top.

The company expects to add 5-10 new funds to the Investable Shelf per month.

“Every investable fund on Fundbase will be verified by CastleHall Alternatives, our independent due diligence partner,” noted Anthony Capone, CEO of Fundbase, in a statement. "This trusted 3rd party assessment is made free of charge to all investors in the Fundbase community.”

“Our model is quite simple,” Capone continued. “We make hedge funds seamlessly investable online for all accredited investors, without any additional fees and with complete transparency.”

The second new feature, Fundbase’s Portfolio Tool, allows investors to model their online investments in one place with their existing hedge fund positions and watch lists, helping them to track overall portfolio performance and model potential future investments. The tool is a key step in Fundbase's plan to bring the complete investment value chain online for everyone.

Headquartered in Switzerland with offices in New York, Fundbase was founded in 2014 as a Swiss-regulated broker/dealer. The company subsequently focused on building a compliant community of active fund managers and investors, growing to more than 2,000 qualified active users and more than 11,000 hedge funds in its first twelve months. The Fundbase platform has directly facilitated more than 2,000 introductions between qualified investors and managers.
