Turner Investments Taps Thompson for Business Development Role

Oct 22 2015 | 9:13pm ET

Turner Investments has hired Michael Thompson as its director of business development.

In his position, Mr. Thompson is responsible for delivering assets and revenue growth in targeted sales channels across the United States. It is a new position, although Thompson returns to Turner following a previous stint with the company.

Thompson’s appointment reflects Turner’s strategy of expanding its business to a global audience. He will report to Bob Turner, Turner’s chairman and CIO.

“We have enjoyed a long, successful history working with Mike as he was one of the original distribution professionals to help us grow our asset base from 1991 to 2000. We are delighted that he has rejoined our team and we are excited to have Mike lead our renewed distribution efforts,” said Turner.

During his hiatus from Turner, Mr. Thompson was chief marketing officer at Attalus Capital and most recently was director of institutional business development for Diamond Hill Capital Management. He also held senior business development positions at Pilgrim Baxter & Associates, Riversource Investments, and Gould Investment Partners.

Founded in 1990, Berwyn, PA-based Turner Investments offers pure-growth, high-conviction long-only and long/short portfolios in a range of capitalization-constrained and flexible cap-range strategies. The company manages approximately $600 million in assets as of September 30.
