Private equity company CI Capital Partners has closed its third fund, named CI Capital Investors III, after a marketing period of less than three months.

The new fund closed at its hard cap of $750 million, with demand far exceeding the self-imposed target, according to the company. It will continue CI Capital's existing strategy of making control investments in middle-market companies primarily in North America.

Fund III received strong support from both CI Capital's existing investors and a new and diverse group of investors, including endowments, foundations, pension funds, financial institutions and family offices. CI Capital executives, including founding CEO Frederick Iseman, made more than $100 million in personal commitments to the new fund, noted the firm.

Placement agent on the capital raise was Monument Group, while Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz served as legal counsel.

New York-based CI Capital Partners has $1.9 billion of assets under management. Since inception, the firm and its portfolio companies have made more than 150 acquisitions representing over $7 billion in enterprise value.
