Crayhill Capital Management has named Thomas Wickwire as managing director as the company expands its private structured credit platform.

Wickwire will be based in the firm’s New York office, and will help source, underwrite, structure, manage and exit asset-based investment opportunities, particularly in the real asset space, according to the company.

Wickwire brings over 20 years of alternative investment and private structured credit expertise to Crayhill. He was most recently a senior advisor to Perella Weinberg Partners’ Asset Based Value Strategy, where he had direct oversight to the funds’ investment in $1 billion of nonperforming residential and commercial real estate loans.

Beforehand, he was a managing director in Carlyle Group’s Financial Institutions Group, where he focused on investing in a variety of specialty finance companies, banks and insurance companies in the US, Europe and Asia.

Earlier in his career, Wickwire worked as the global head of structured products at Wachovia Securities and as the global head of structured product syndicate at UBS.

“We believe Tom will be instrumental in our efforts to provide financing solutions for underserved real assets sectors and in our mission to generate attractive risk adjusted returns with low correlation to the broader markets,” said Josh Eaton, co-founder and managing partner at Crayhill Capital, in a statement.

Founded in August 2015 by Eaton, Frederick Horton and Carlos Mendez, New York-based Crayhill is an alternative investment firm that specializes in sourcing and investing in a broad range of illiquid credit and asset-based opportunities. As of December 2015, Crayhill had assets under management of approximately $860 million.
