JPMAM Hires Former Goldman Exec Malangone for Multi-Asset Solutions Slot

J.P. Morgan Asset Management has named Nick Malangone as executive director and insurance portfolio manager on its $170-billion multi-asset solutions team.

In his new role, Malangone will be responsible for oversight of portfolios managed on behalf of insurance companies as well as meeting their regulatory and accounting requirements, according to a statement. He officially joined the firm in December and is based in London.

Malangone was previously an insurance asset management portfolio manager for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was reportedly responsible for $15 billion on behalf of insurance clients. Beforehand, he held roles at Aviva Investors and Morgan Stanley.

“Nick's combination of technical and investment skills ensures we're able to offer insurance clients dynamic multi-asset solutions within the framework of the various regulatory and accounting regimes in which our insurance clients operate," said James Peagam, global head of insurance solutions for J.P. Morgan Asset Management, in the statement.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management's assets under management totaled more than $1.7 trillion as of September 30, 2015.
