Strattam Capital Names Villareal Operating Partner

Niche private equity firm Strattam Capital has hired Ray Villareal, a veteran executive with experience at several venture-backed private companies, as an operating partner. 

Villareal’s appointment is effective immediately, according to a company statement. He will work closely with the firm’s investment team and the management of its portfolio companies to develop and implement go-to-market strategies and execution improvement activities.

Villareal was most recently was vice president of the Americas and general manager of global services at LifeSize, a division of Logitech, where he was responsible for go-to-market activities, global services and world-wide customer satisfaction during the transition to cloud software and inexpensive video devices. Previously, he also has served as senior vice president of field operations at SumTotal Systems, vice president of marketing and vice president of field operations at WebEx Communications, and CEO and board member at Omniva Policy Systems. 

Villareal has also provided independent consulting services at software and technology companies such as VSee, OnRamp Systems and VMware.

Founded by Morse, a former Oak Hill technology specialist, and ex-Rockwood Capital executive Adrian Polak in 2013, Austin, TX-based Strattam invests in underappreciated companies within the business information technology market. The company’s debut fund is targeting $350 million, according to a mid-2015 securities filing.
