Former Boeing CEO McNerney Joins Clayton, Dubilier & Rice as Senior Advisor

Well-known private equity company Clayton, Dubilier & Rice has appointed retired Boeing Company chairman and CEO James McNerney as a senior advisor to the company’s funds.

McNerney will assist in identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities, as well as driving value creation strategies at the CD&R funds’ portfolio companies, according to a company statement. 

McNerney is one of the world’s most accomplished senior executives. He has served in top leadership positions at some of the world’s most recognized global companies, including as CEO and chairman of Boeing, chairman and CEO of 3M Company, and a range of senior executive positions at General Electric. Before joining GE, he worked for Procter & Gamble and McKinsey & Company.

McNerney currently serves as a director of Procter & Gamble and IBM and is active in a wide range of civic activities, including as a trustee for the Kennedy Center and the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
