Alternative asset due diligence firm Castle Hall brought former McGill University information security specialist Vladimir Rabotka aboard as director of security and systems administration.

In his new role, Rabotka will assume responsibility for Castle Hall’s internal cyber security policies as well as provide expert advice to Castle Hall’s global client base around operational due diligence regarding the growing area of asset manager cyber security.

Rabotka comes to Castle Hall with more than 10 years of IT experience, noted the company. He was with McGill for five years and brings extensive experience in risk analysis, vulnerability management, intrusion detection and prevention, security information and event management.

“In an ever more sophisticated governance, risk and compliance environment, institutional investors now place far greater emphasis on asset manager cyber security risks as part of initial and ongoing operational due diligence” said Chris Addy, president & CEO of Castle Hall Alternatives. “The challenge for investors, however, is how to bridge the gap between extremely technical subject matter and practical guidance on how to approach cyber security issues during a real world operational diligence review. Vladimir will enhance Castle Hall’s ability to translate IT technicalities into actionable knowledge for asset owners.”

Headquartered in Montreal, Castle Hall Alternatives is a leading specialist in operational due diligence across hedge funds, private equity and long only vehicles. The firm helps global institutional investors, identify and manage the business and operational risk of asset managers. Castle Hall’s OpsDiligence online platform has helped clients review diligence across more than 5,000 fund entities.
