Paul Cavazos to Join American Beacon Advisors Inc.

Paul Cavazos will join American Beacon Advisors Inc., a provider of investment advisory services to institutional and retail markets, as senior vice president and chief investment officer, according to the company.

Cavazos will assume the role effective June 20 and will be responsible for overseeing corporate pension plan investments and the investment sub-advisors to the American Beacon Funds.

“Paul’s comprehensive background leading defined-benefit plans of varying sizes, conducting investment manager searches, due diligence and risk control oversight make him an excellent fit to the evolving business needs of American Beacon,” Gene L. Needles, Jr., chairman, president and CEO of American Beacon, said in a statement.

Cavazos most recently was chief investment officer and assistant treasurer at Detroit-based DTE Energy Company.

American Beacon manages the American Beacon Funds, a series of competitively priced mutual funds, and has $51.4 billion in AUM. The Irving, Texas-based firm manages three liquid alternative mutual funds and more than $230 million in a family of private equity funds of funds.
