Janney Hires Ballou and Skolnick for Institutional Equity Sales Team

Janney Montgomery Scott hired two senior sales professionals, Andy Ballou and Glenn Skolnick, to join its New York institutional equity sales team as managing directors, according to the company.

They will report to Andrew Maddaloni, director of research and head of equity sales.

Ballou joins Janney from RBC Capital Markets where he spent the past 14 years in institutional equity sales covering long-only and hedge fund accounts in New York and Connecticut.

Skolnick formerly was at BMO Capital Markets where he spent the previous five years as a senior institutional sales professional covering New York hedge fund and long-only accounts.

“The additions of Andy and Glenn build on a theme of disciplined growth in our equities business and we will continue to add talented professionals on a targeted and strategic basis moving forward,” said Joe Culley, Head of Equities & Investment Banking, in a statement.“

Philadelphia-based Janney provides advice to individual, corporate and institutional clients, with expertise includes guidance about asset management, corporate and public finance, equity and fixed income investing, equity research, institutional equity and fixed income sales and trading, investment strategy, financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, public and private capital raising, portfolio management, retirement and income planning and wealth management.
