Merrill Lynch has lost the head of its Asian prime brokerage as the firm said the unit is entering an “execution phase.”
Melvyn Ford has left his post as head of Asian prime brokerage, Asian Investor reports. No reason was given for his departure, but Merrill batted down rumors that the division was going in a new direction.
Brian Canniffe and Eddie Guillemette have been named co-heads of Asian prime brokerage. Canniffe will head trading and risk, while Guillemette will lead its sales, capital introduction and consulting services.
