Private equity company Hidden Harbor Capital Partners has named Ken Trent as an operating partner in the firm.

In his new role, Trent will work hand in hand with the company’s investment team and be responsible for sourcing, evaluating and driving the operational performance of industrial businesses, the company said.

Trent has more than fifteen years of experience as a CEO and advisor driving profitable growth in industrial and manufacturing businesses. Prior to joining Hidden Harbor, he was president & owner of Professional Power Products, a $40 million designer and manufacturer of custom integrated electrical power generation systems that was sold to a public company. Beforehand, he was director of business development for both Click Services and MasterKey, and served as CEO and advisor to the CEO for both a top tier private equity firm as well as a large public company.

“Ken’s proven track records in both high growth and turnaround situations in industrial and manufacturing organizations will be a valuable asset to our firm as we look to build our portfolio,” said John Caple, managing partner of Hidden Harbor, in a statement. “He has a successful track record of driving profitable growth, as well as building high performing management teams and brings a strategic network of relationships.”

Hidden Harbor Capital Partners is a private equity firm with an operations-centric approach. The firm focuses on lower middle-market control opportunities that offer value-oriented, operationally intense situations and was launched earlier this year by Caple and David Block, who worked together during stints at Bain & Co. and H.I.G. Capital.
