Mellon Adds To Portable Alpha Lineup

Mellon Capital Management has launched its third portable alpha product this year with $1 billion in assets under management. International Equity Alpha Plus, benchmarked to the MSCI EAFE Index, is a long/short offering investing in global equity, sovereign debt and currencies.

"We are seeing strong interest in this product, as it combines two of the fastest-growing strategies for institutional investors, international investing and portable alpha," said Charlie Jacklin, the firm's president and CEO.

In May the firm unveiled a bond alpha strategy and an equity alpha strategy. Mellon Capital, which has $141 billion in assets under management, is a division of Mellon Financial Corp.'s Mellon Asset Management.
