Abraaj Group Hires Bourgeois to Lead North American Operations

Developing market private equity firm Abraaj Group has named former Atlantic-Pacific Capital CEO Mark Bourgeois as partner, global head of investor engagement and CEO of Abraaj North America. 

Bourgeois will spearhead the company’s global fundraising efforts and client facing strategies, and will also oversee interactions with U.S. and Canadian stakeholders, the company said. 

Bourgeois comes to Abraaj with more than 25 years of experience in the alternative investments industry. He most recently served as president and CEO of Atlantic-Pacific, and beforehand was the global head of distribution and CEO of the Americas for Credit Suisse Asset Management. He has also held senior leadership roles in Lehman Brothers and UBS Private Funds Group.

Founded in 2002, Abraaj has invested in 170 companies in more than thirty countries. It has 20 offices spread across five regions with hubs in New York, London, Istanbul, Mexico City, Dubai, Nairobi and Singapore managing approximately $10 billion across regional, sector and country-specific funds.
