HFA Elects Schultze as Vice President, Forms Cybersecurity Committee

Leading alternative investment industry organization The Hedge Fund Association (HFA) has announced the election of hedge fund manager George Schultze to succeed Ron Geffner as vice president. 

Schultze is the founder of distressed debt specialist Schultze Asset Management, and was the subject of an in-depth Q&A on FINalternatives last year regarding his firm’s unique approach to investing in firms heading for, in, or recently emerging from bankruptcy.

HFA’s board of directors also appointed several new regional directors, added chapters in the U.S. and abroad, and launched a new cybersecurity committee to be chaired by Knox Corps CEO Scott Patterson, according to a statement by the organization on Monday. New regional and chapter directors include:

  • Simon Schilder, Jersey Chapter Director
  • Frank Triose, Singapore Chapter Director
  • Scott Patterson, Cybersecurity Committee
  • James Van Horn, Regulatory Committee
