Law firm Ogier has named investment fund specialist Craig Cordle as a group partner on its Guernsey investment funds team.

Cordle will advise on all aspects of the structuring, restructuring, merger, establishment and operation of investment funds and other collective investment arrangements, including the marketing of investment vehicles in numerous jurisdictions.

He comes to Ogier from a major international London firm, according to a statement from the company, and is the third new member of the firm's partnership since August. Ogier's global partnership now totals 53 members.

The growth of the Guernsey investment funds team reflects Ogier's confidence in the sector. The net value of funds under management and administration in Guernsey reached nearly a quarter of a trillion pounds after four consecutive quarters of growth, Ogier said, with further positive signs including the launch of the new manager-led product and private investment fund regime.

"Craig's many years of experience in the sector and his expertise in structuring, establishing and restructuring investment funds, as well as the listing of investment vehicles, is the perfect way to bolster our strong existing team,” said Guernsey practice partner Marcus Leese. “We are delighted to welcome Craig to the partnership and to the Ogier family."

Tracing its heritage back to 1859, Ogier was recently named the 2016 Offshore Law Firm of the Year by Chambers Europe. Headquartered in the British Virgin Islands, the company operates in a total of eight jurisdictions including BVI, Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey, Luxembourg, Shanghai and Tokyo.
