The Institutional Limited Partners Association, or ILPA, has named Mathew Kelly as its new managing director of education.

Based in Washington, DC, Kelly will be tasked with expanding and diversifying the ILPA’s suite of education offerings provided to the association’s growing membership, according to a statement. His appointment is effective January 1.

Kelly brings more than 15 years of experience in global executive education, strategy consulting, law and business management to the new role, the ILPA said. He was most recently director of talent solutions and head of global faculty with CEB, where clients achieve business objectives through world-class skill and leadership development programs.

A veteran classroom instructor, Kelly has delivered executive education programs on six continents and successfully managed the delivery of quality CEB experiences by a network of more than 85 contract and full-time faculty.

“We are delighted to gain Matt’s expertise as we look to build upon the success of the ILPA Institute and other current offerings by expanding the number and diversity of educational programs available to our members,” says Peter Freire, ILPA’s CEO, in the statement. “His experience with CEB designing and delivering high-impact learning and development to Fortune 1000 organizations will be invaluable to the ILPA.”

Founded in the early 1990s as an informal networking club of 15-20 members, the ILPA is now the leading member-driven organization dedicated to advancing the interests of private equity limited partners. The association provides educational programs, independent research, best practices, networking opportunities and global collaborations to its membership, which has grown to more than 350 pension funds, endowments, foundations, family offices, and insurance companies.
