100 Women in Hedge Funds has formally changed its name to 100 Women in Finance, reflecting the organization's growth over the past 15 years from a small group of women working in the hedge fund industry in New York to a global network of more than 15,000 professionals across the finance and alternative investment industries.

As part of the new brand, the organization has debuted a new logo and a redesigned website, accessible at www.100women.org.

"100 Women was among the first organizations to focus on empowering women in their careers in the world of finance," said Sonia Gardner, Chair of 100 Women in Finance and co-founder of $10.8 billion Avenue Capital Group, in a statement. "Our new name and brand identity honor that legacy, but also reflect the dramatic evolution our organization has undergone over the past 15 years. Today, our global membership…is drawn from hedge funds, but also includes professionals in alternative investments more broadly, as well as the wider finance industry.

As an organization, we are proud to provide opportunities for peer engagement, philanthropic and educational initiatives for professional women across every career phase – from the earliest stages through to the most experienced, senior levels," she added.

100 Women in Finance was founded in 2001 when three women working at hedge fund firms came up with the idea of bringing 100 senior female investment professionals together into an informal group to better leverage their collective relationships and enhance communication with the alternative investment industry.

Since then, the organization has grown into a global network of 15,000 professionals in the finance and alternative investment industries serviced through 21 global locations and 450 active volunteers. The network has raised more than $40 million for non-profit organizations aligned with its mission and held more than 600 educational events since inception.
