Goldman Sachs is staking its claim as Asia’s top prime broker with a hiring spree.
The firm now boasts five managing directors in its Asian prime brokerage, and hiring plans across the prime brokerage board are underway in Hong Kong and Tokyo, Asian Investor reports.
James Shipton and Jig Patel have been named managing directors, with the former heading Goldman’s prime brokerage consultancy in the region and the latter leading client infrastructure and clearing.
And while Will Gasden, who had been an executive director in Asia ex-Japan sales, has left the firm, managing director Shane Bolton has moved from London to Hong Kong.
