HarbourVest Partners Hires Ex-Hartford Exec Mackechnie As CTO

Global private markets investment manager HarbourVest Partners has named former Hartford executive Tricia Mackechnie as its chief technology officer.

In her new role, Mackechnie will be responsible for leading the firm’s information technology team globally, according to the company. Her duties will include IT infrastructure, application development, quality assurance and cybersecurity functions. She will be based in Boston.

Prior to joining HarbourVest, Mackechnie was chief information officer for financial services giant The Hartford, where she provided leadership for the company’s operations and IT workforce and crafted IT solutions to achieve higher levels of speed and scale. Beforehand, she held various senior positions in technology, operations, consulting, and project management roles at The Hartford, ING and Accenture. 

Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Boston, HarbourVest manages more than $40 billion in primary fund investments, secondary investments, and direct co-investments in co-mingled funds or separately managed accounts. The company closed its latest fund in November of last year, raising $4.77 billion for its Dover Street IX secondaries fund.
