Consumer-focused private equity firm North Castle Partners has named former Flywheel Sports CEO Jay Galluzzo as a managing director of the firm.

Galluzzo brings nearly 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, executive and investor to North Castle, the company said in a statement.  He joined as an operating advisor in 2016, and has since been actively involved in sourcing and managing various investments. Prior to his new role, Galluzzo was co-founder of Flywheel Sports, one of the leading innovators in boutique fitness, leading the firm from launch in 2010 through to a successful sale in 2014.

“We welcome Jay to his new role as a managing director of North Castle,” said Chip Baird, North Castle CEO and founder, in the statement. “While working with Jay in his role as an operating advisor, we recognized the value that he would bring as a North Castle investment professional based on his record as an entrepreneur, passion for the healthy living space, innate appreciation of our approach and nose for new investment opportunities.”

Founded in 1997 by Baird and headquartered in Greenwich, CT, North Castle Partners is focused on investments in consumer-driven product and service businesses that promote healthy, active, and sustainable living. The company is currently investing its sixth focused fund, an oversubscribed $300 million vehicle closed in August 2016.
