Alternative investment industry data provider eVestment has continued its European expansion with the hiring of former Thomson Reuters executive Gabriel Gilarranz as vice president of business development.

Gilarranz will be based in London and focus initially on asset managers in the United Kingdom, according to the company. He brings a wealth of financial industry experience to eVestment, serving most recently as sales director with Thomson Reuters since 2012 and holding previous executive sales positions with IHS Markit, Bloomberg and Banco Santander covering clients in Germany, Switzerland and Spain.

“Bringing seasoned business development executives like Gabriel to our team is an important step in continuing our European and international growth,” said Christophe Frerebeau, eVestment’s head of Europe, Middle East and Africa operations. “Gabriel’s experience and contacts in the financial services and data industries will be crucial to our continued growth in this region of the world.”

Atlanta-based eVestment was founded in 2000 by Jim Minnick, Matt Crisp and Heath Wilson. The company boasts one of the most comprehensive global databases of traditional and alternative strategies and provides institutional investment data intelligence and analytic solutions to clients worldwide.
