Perella Weinberg Partners Names Aspen Institute's Isaacson as Partner

Perella Weinberg Partners has named Aspen Institute CEO and acclaimed author Walter Isaacson as a partner in its advisory business. 
 
In his new position, Isaacson will focus on client development and providing strategic advice on matters, including technology, innovation and the new economy, according to a statement. He is already on Perella Weinberg Partners’ Advisory Board and will continue to serve in this capacity.
 
Isaacson’s appointment will become effective at the end of this year, when he leaves his post at the Aspen Institute, where he has been CEO since 2003. He began his career at The Sunday Times of London and then the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He joined TIME in 1978 and served as a political correspondent, national editor, and editor of digital media before becoming the magazine’s 14th editor in 1996. Subsequently, he became chairman and CEO of CNN in 2001.
 
Isaacson is widely published author and was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as the chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, which runs Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, and other international broadcasts of the United States, a position he held from 2009 to 2012.
