Switzerland-based investment manager Vontobel Asset Management has recruited former UBS executive Gregor Hirt to be its new head of multi-asset solutions.

Hirt will assume his new position in July as part of the company’s multi-asset division and will join the investment committee. He will report to Christophe Bernard, chief strategist and head of the companies balanced/multi-asset class boutique.

He joins from UBS Global Asset Management, where he was chief investment officer of global investment solutions for Europe and Switzerland and was global chief strategist for multi-asset at the firm.

Beforehand, he was head of mulit-asset Europe for Schroders from 2006 to 2014 and held a similar role at Credit Suisse from 1997 to 2006.

Headquartered in Zürich, Vontobel Asset Management was spun off as an independent multi-boutique asset manager from Swiss bank Vontobel in late 2014. The company is one of three business units within Vontobel, and managed client assets worth approximately 101 billion Swiss francs as of December 31, 2016.
