Enterprise market risk solutions provider Axioma has named veteran technology executive and former Quantifi executive Mark Traudt as managing director and head of product engineering.

In his new role, Traudt will further Axioma’s leadership position in financial technology innovation, the company said in a statement. His main objective will be advancing the technology of Axioma’s full suite of products in addition to driving the development of new capabilities. He will report to COO Ian Webster.

Prior to coming aboard Axioma, Traudt was CTO for risk analytics firm Quantifi, which he joined in 2003. In this role, he was responsible for technology and architecture of Quantifi Risk, the firm’s risk management solution. Beforehand, he was a vice president in Goldman Sach’s Global Equity Derivatives unit and previously held positions at ING Barings, Sumitomo Bank Capital Markets, and Kidder Peabody.

“Industry-leading technology is at the heart of all that we do,” said Sebastian Ceria, CEO of Axioma, in the statement. “Bringing on someone of Mark’s caliber speaks to our mission: delivering products and services that are transformational to our clients.”

Founded in 1998 and headquartered in New York, Axioma offers a suite of sophisticated portfolio construction, analytics, risk modeling and optimization tools that help clients create and model portfolios and obtain views of risk across the enterprise and multiple asset classes.
