Wilshire Consulting, the institutional advisory and consulting unit of Wilshire Associates, has named Daniel Ingram to serve as vice president of responsible investment research and consulting.

In his new role, Ingram ill assist in expanding Wilshire Consulting’s ESG and SRI capabilities, the company said in a statement. He will be responsible for supporting Wilshire Consulting’s traditional advisory clients in addition to its clients in the Wilshire OCIO Solutions practice, which has grown significantly in recent years. Ingram will report to Andrew Junkin, President of Wilshire Consulting and Steve Foresti, CIO of Wilshire Consulting.

The move is part of Wilshire’s commitment to providing clients with ESG/SRI-driven solutions. The company has made several recent moves in the ESG/SRI space. The company announced the launch of Wilshire ClimateLens in May 2016 as a four-part program designed to help clients understand and make decisions about the risks and opportunities associated with climate change. Additionally, in August 2016, Wilshire Associates became a signatory to the UN PRI, joining a global network of financial industry participants committed to integrating ESG considerations into their investment practices and ownership policies.

Ingram comes to Wilshire with over a decade of global ESG experience. He previously served as head of responsible investment for the UK’s largest corporate retirement plan, BT Pension Scheme (BTPS). In this role, Ingram advised BTPS’ Trustee Board on its responsible investment strategy, its approach to managing climate change risk and integrating ESG factors into manager selection and monitoring.

Beforehand, he worked at Hermes Investment Management as a senior corporate governance analyst, and served as a policy analyst to the U.K.’s HM Treasury, working on several landmark reports, including leading the Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change as Lord Stern’s Chief of Staff

“Daniel’s deep understanding of responsible investment best practices, particularly in Europe, will help our clients navigate this exciting and often challenging space,” said Junkin in a statement. “We are extremely fortunate to expand the team with someone who has such an excellent track record of designing and implementing creative investment-led solutions to managing ESG risks and opportunities.”

Wilshire Consulting has provided custom investment consulting solutions to fund sponsors for 35 years. Combined with its endowment, foundation and major insurance company clients, the company consults on combined total assets of nearly $1 trillion.

Its parent, Wilshire Associates, was founded in 1972 and is an independent investment consulting and services firm that provides plan sponsors, investment managers and financial intermediaries with a wide range of services. In addition to Wilshire Consulting, units include Wilshire Analytics, Wilshire Funds Management and Wilshire Private Markets, and it is home to the Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index. Based in Santa Monica, California, the firm provides services to clients in more than 20 countries representing more than 500 organizations with assets totaling more than $7 trillion.
