UBS Taps Highland's Jones As Head Of Product Strategy And Innovation

UBS Asset Management has named former Highland Capital Management executive Terry Jones to the position of head of product strategy & innovation.

In his new role, Jones will be responsible for driving product strategy, innovation design and implementation as well as building on the existing framework and product shelf, UBS said in a statement emailed to FINalternatives. Based in New York, he will also be responsible for overseeing the company’s two analytics functions, the pricing team and the investment performance analytics team.  

The position is new. Jones will begin on June 1 and report to Bill Ferri, UBS’s head of asset management Americas, products & solutions.

Prior to joining UBS, Jones was president, institutional products at Highland Capital Management. Previously, Jones was founder and CIO of Battersby Capital Management, and global head of the Relative Value and Event Driven Sectors of the Hedge Fund Strategies Group of Goldman Sachs.

UBS Asset Management managed some CHF 695 billion in assets as of March 31, CHF 41 billion of which is in alternatives, and ranks as the second-largest fund of hedge funds manager in the world.
