Alpha Private Equity Raises €903B For Seventh European Mid-Market Fund

Mid-market buyout firm Alpha Private Equity Group has raised €903 million in capital commitments for its seventh pan-European fund, significantly surpassing the vehicle’s original target of €800 million. 

The new fund, named Alpha Private Equity Fund 7, will focus on control investments in continental European mid-market companies with a strong global edge or an innovative competitive advantage, the company said in a statement. 

Investors include pension funds, funds of funds, financial institutions, insurance companies, family offices, and government agencies in Europe, United States, and the Middle East, Alpha added.

Capstone Partners served as exclusive placement agent on the fund raise, while legal and tax advisers included Willkie Farr & Gallagher, Arendt & Medernach, Reed Smith and Baker & McKenzie.

Headquartered in Paris, Alpha specializes in mid-size control LBOs of €100 -500 million in Continental European middle-market companies, primarily in Italy, France, Germany, the Benelux nations and Switzerland. The company has deployed more than €2.9 billion in 88 transactions and generated 77 exits since inception, generating a 30% gross IRR on realized investments.
