Trump To Choose Scaramucci As U.S. Ambassador To OECD

Skybridge Capital founder and key Trump campaign advisor Anthony Scaramucci will reportedly be appointed as the U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris, ending months of speculation about what his role in the new administration would ultimately be.

The move closes a long-running saga in which Scaramucci sold his 45% of Skybridge in early January in order to clear the way for a senior job in the new administration’s office of public engagement, only to be apparently passed over earlier this year apparently on conflict of interest concerns regarding the Chinese buyers of his stake.

The news was first reported by Bloomberg, which cited unidentified persons familiar with the plans.

Scaramucci was an ardent supporter of the Trump campaign after initially backing Jeb Bush. He was a campaign fundraiser, regularly appeared on cable news shows to defend Trump and his platform, and was a key advisor during the presidential transition.

Scaramucci founded Skybridge, which specializes in funds of hedge funds products, custom separate account portfolios, hedge fund advisory services and has a long-only mutual fund, in 2005 after a stint at Goldman Sachs.
