Reuters: RBC Recruits Yalmokas To Lead Equity Financing Business

Jun 15 2017 | 12:31am ET

Royal Bank of Canada has reportedly recruited Bank of America prime brokerage chief Jonathan Yalmokas to lead development of RBC’s equity financing business.

Yalmokas resigned from BofA last week and will start at RBC in September, according to a Reuters report citing an unidentified person familiar with the matter. His role will be to help lead the company’s financing operations for investment managers, the article said.

Yalmokas was head of Americas Prime Brokerage for BofA since 2011. Beforehand, he was a managing director providing investment services to hedge funds for UBS and spent five years at Goldman Sachs growing the company’s U.S. financing and synthetic products within the prime brokerage unit. He began his career in equity derivatives and financing for Merrill Lynch in London.

Further information, including who would be taking over for Yalmokas as BofA, was not immediately available.
